This wine boasts a complex bouquet filled with ripe red and black fruits, complemented by intense spices and distinctive empyreumatic and balsamic notes characteristic of its Cabernet Sauvignon core. Delight in the enchanting aromas reminiscent of a cozy hearth, cedar wood, and lush pine forests.
On the palate, the Esprit de Chevalier 2021 is remarkably balanced, silky, and delicious. Fruity and suave waves envelop the senses, culminating in a captivating finish with exquisite, fruity tannins.
History:
Domaine de Chevalier is celebrated for producing exceptional wines, even in challenging vintages, thanks to its outstanding terroir and rigorous selection process, which can require up to five harvest passes.
Launched in 1989, “l’Esprit de Chevalier” reflects this meticulous approach, primarily using grapes from younger vines and cuvées with less structure than the First wine. A third wine further enhances this selectivity.
The red cuvées are designed to be complex, balanced, and elegant, with L’Esprit de Chevalier rouge being enjoyable earlier than the First wine. The dry white, crafted through careful barrel selection, is rich and vibrant, with distinct aromas and a lively, accessible character. Recent vintages show significant quality improvements, confirming L’Esprit's place among the top second wines in the appellation.
